Take a minute to think about the impact of alcohol or drug use on your relationships, your work life, or even your ability to cope with everyday challenges. These are some of the ways substance use could be affecting your health and quality of life.
To get a better sense of how risky your substance use might be—and whether you could possibly benefit from treatment—contact a Hazelden Betty Ford care navigator. Talking with you confidentially and at no cost, our care navigator will help you assess your situation, answer any questions you might have about getting help, and discuss the types of behavioral health services we offer in Minnesota.
If you're concerned about a teenager who's showing symptoms of alcohol or other drug use, ask about our specialized screening and brief intervention for teens. Called Teen Intervene, this counseling service is not a type of addiction treatment but rather an opportunity for a teen to take a closer look at their choices around substance use and where that might be leading them. Teens typically meet individually with a counselor for three sessions, with parents joining for one session.
We do not provide drug or alcohol detox services at our Chaska outpatient clinic, but our treatment centers in Plymouth, MN, and Center City, MN, have fully staffed medical units for detoxification services.
Due to the unpredictable and potentially severe side effects of drug and alcohol withdrawal, it's important to seek out medical advice regarding detox. Detox services are often required before starting an addiction rehab program because the process is designed to ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings so you can focus more fully on your treatment program and recovery goals.
Definitely. If you have accessibility or mobility concerns or you aren't located near any of our Minnesota treatment facilities, Hazelden Betty Ford's virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) could be ideal for drug rehabilitation. For some patients, accessing treatment via telehealth has even resulted in improved participation rates because attendance is more convenient.
Our virtual program combines evidence-based addiction treatment therapies and practices, Twelve Step principles, and the latest scientific research about addiction recovery.
Our post-treatment services and resources are designed to help you strengthen and advance your sobriety and recovery over the long haul. Scientific research identifies involvement in recovery-related activities as the best predictor of long-term sobriety. This engagement is especially important during the first 18 months of recovery when risk of relapse is most intense.
We offer a wide variety of recovery resources to support your healing journey, including:
Symptoms of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can aggravate substance use issues—and vice versa. Clinicians at Hazelden Betty Ford in Chaska specialize in treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. This means that mental health assessments, therapy and goals will be integrated into your treatment plan, so you are assured of comprehensive care.
Through in-person or telehealth appointments, our psychologists, therapists and counselors can help you address symptoms related to anxiety, grief, depression, PTSD and other challenges. Services include individual appointments as well as family and couples counseling.
Hazelden Betty Ford's outpatient mental health services are available to the general community, not only individuals who come to us for addiction treatment.
In addition to individual counseling and therapy sessions, we offer a number of special-focus groups, including:
