Catalyzing Communities

Impact Report 2023

Thanks to you—Hazelden Betty Ford's alumni, families, friends—2023 was a year of excitement and transformation across the organization, and the nation. As we know, recovery thrives in community, when we come together around shared experiences and goals. Together, we are catalyzing communities across the nation and starting conversations about how we can reach more people with the life-saving message of recovery. Through our collective efforts and with innovative and expanded services, we will help individuals and families break through to find a new life in recovery. We are grateful for your support, whether it is helping one individual take the very first step to seek assistance, or breaking down stigma so thousands more people will access treatment without fear. Together, we will continue to be a force of healing and hope.

Together with your generosity in 2023: 6.4 million in financial assistance. 76 percent increase in families receiving support. 448 calls each day. More than 1 million books and digital resources. Students from 43 states and 17 countries.

Full Circle

Angela's experience in Hazelden Betty Ford's Children's Program helped make her who she is today. Last summer, her journey came full circle by returning to the Betty Ford Center campus to learn about addiction as a medical student.

Inspired to Help Others

Today, Phil is a successful businessperson and entrepreneur. He's also a husband, father and grandfather. But for years he hid a secret that almost killed him. Now, he gives back to make sure others find life-saving care.

Giving Back in Gratitude

One family is using their own experience as a springboard to be there for others. In Lisa's words: "I wouldn't wish this journey on anyone, but we're all so much healthier and stronger because of it."

With the help of supporters who share our mission, Hazelden Betty Ford earned the highest scores in Newsweek's ranking of the best addiction treatment centers. Our top status was also demonstrated in a recently published study that showed our patient outcomes are higher than national averages.

With Gratitude

We are grateful for the many volunteer leaders who partner with us and with others throughout the country as part of our community, helping to advance our life-saving mission and empower recovery and well-being for all.
